Green light for 66 new homes in Longhoughton
The detailed scheme for 66 new homes in Longhoughton, which was approved in outline last year, has been given the go-ahead.
The reserved-matters application for the new development on land to the north of Station Road, where the access road would be located, and to the west of the church of St Peter and St Paul, was due to be decided by the county council’s planning committee on Tuesday. However, at the start of the meeting, members agreed that the decision could be delegated to the planning officers as there had been no objections and it has now been approved. While this application received no objections, the outline scheme had been opposed by a number of residents, primarily due to fears over flooding and road safety.
