Green-fingered residents honoured
Mayor of Amble Jane Dargue presented June and Tony Carruthers with a prize for Best Overall Garden, as part of the town council's annual Garden and Community Awards.
The green-fingered couple live at 5 Riverside Park, in the town’s West Ward.
The competition also featured a secret garden category – for areas which are hidden from passers-by. The winner was 17 Brinkburn Place and the garden will be open for public viewing on Sunday, from noon to 3pm.
