Great response to Facebook post about internet safety

A Northumberland school's social-media post with an important message about staying safe online has been seen by thousands of people across the world.

Activities to mark Safer Internet Day took place on the day itself and beforehand at Grange View CE First School in Widdrington Station.

The i newsletter cut through the noise

They included into the screen workshops and a presentation by teacher Lauren Chapman at family worship, while the pupils in Willow class (Key Stage 2) posted a plea on the school’s Facebook page to share their message and how far it could spread online.

Headteacher Louise Laskey said they were amazed to discover that it received 169,358 views, more than 2,000 shares, 845 comments and 750 likes/loves from many countries, including Brazil, the USA and Australia.
