A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested in connection with graffiti attacks in Alnwick.

On Sunday, June 19, a wall of a house in Bondgate Within was targeted.

It followed an earlier incident, on Wednesday, May 11, when graffiti was sprayed onto the pavement, lamp post and walls in Greenwell Road.

In both cases the council was able to remove the graffiti.

Alnwick Neighbourhood Inspector Sue Peart said: “We’ve arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with these damages and are appealing for anyone who may have information about anyone carrying out any graffiti in the area to contact police.

“Graffiti is criminal damage and is an offence that you can and will be arrested for if caught by police. It causes a lot of problems for council workers and the whole community. If you graffiti in a public place then you face the possibility of a criminal record.”

Anyone with any information into the damages is asked to contact police on 03456 043043 ext 69191.
