Quiz night fun

Glendale Local History Society held its first ever quiz night at the Tankerville Arms in Wooler on Wednesday, January 27.

It was an evening designed to give members and guests the opportunity to socialise in a different manner to the usual programme of talks that take place during the winter months.

The evening started with a buffet and was followed by a quiz based loosely on the local history of Wooler and Glendale.

Questions covered areas such as Wooler itself, local battlefields and significant people of Wooler and Glendale.

There were also three sets of picture questions, both historical and current.

The event was attended by more than 40 members and guests, who arranged themselves into teams.

There was much competition.

The final winners were from Crookham, who took away the prize of chocolates and a book of historical photographs of Glendale and District.
