Residents in a north Northumberland village have made a number of efforts raising money for charity over the year, bringing in more than £30,000.
The December issue of the Alnmouth Village Newsletter used the headline What generous people you are...! for the third year in a row to reveal the terrific total in 2012.
In 2010, villagers raised £11,847, and last year a total of £17,450 was raised for charity in Alnmouth.
But this year, the total has been nearly doubled through more than 25 events ranging from coffee mornings to mountain climbing, golf challenges and more.
Last month, we reported that the Village Inn, Longframlington, had also surpassed its previous fund-raising efforts, bringing in more than £11,000 fo Macmillan Cancer Research.
It comes as a report shows charitable donations in 2011/12 fell by 20 per cent.
