The second donation came from Amble Bede Street Club, which organised a night with the Howard Baker Band.

It was very successful and a good time was had by all and managed to raise £500 for the cause.

The venue is planning a similar event sometime in October, which will be advertised nearer to the date.

ALF is trying to raise £200,000 to help bring a state-of-the-art Shannon-class lifeboat to the harbour town.

In January, we reported that the appeal has raised more than £150,000.

The appeal was the beneficiary of the Gazette’s 2015 Jam Jar Army campaign.
