Warkworth Harbour Commissioners have donated £1,000 to Amble RNLI’s Shannon Lifeboat Appeal.
Maurice Burnett, chairman of the Commissioners, handed over the cheque to Linda Siney of Amble Lifeboat Fundraisers.
Mr Burnett said: “The appeal has generated huge support from the town and the Commissioners also wanted to express their support for the RNLI in a very positive way.
“The life of the harbour revolves around the various port users and central to this is the RNLI.
“With the loss of the 202 air-sea rescue helicopter last year, we are even more dependent upon our gallant lifeboat crews to provide a first-class rescue service and the new lifeboat will help to deliver that.”
