This is a county of outstanding beauty, rich history and passionate people. With its spectacular and diverse landscape – from coast to countryside – and its collection of castles and monuments, The Secret Kingdom is a truly special place.

And the upcoming television series, Tales From Northumberland with Robson Green, captures all that is great and wonderful in this part of the world. It is an area of England as picturesque as it is diverse.

Despite all of this, Northumberland – which relies heavily on tourism – is still, perhaps, overlooked by would-be visitors, unaware of just how amazing and beautiful this county is.

Green’s fascinating eight-parter will surely help with that. This, after all, is a fantastic promotion of the county. It is, in effect, free advertising on a national scale.

The area’s beauty speaks for itself. But the fact that it is being fronted by man-of-the-moment Green, whose passion for Northumberland is clear, can only be a good thing.

If so, the county could be in line for a huge boost, both in the short and long term.
