Receiving a call in the middle of the night is annoying and worrying enough.
But to then find out that it is a recorded, automated message trying to entice you into buying something is really frustrating.
That is why we are spearheading the campaign to stop nuisance robocalls.
Nobody wants to listen to an electronic voice saying you are entitled to a pay-out or discounted double-glazing.
And we shouldn’t have to put up with these kinds of calls.
That is why we are calling on the Information Commissioner’s Office to strengthen their powers to stop them.
We are asking you, our readers, to back the campaign by signing our petition, which will be presented to the Information Commissioner’s Office along with information we gather throughout the quest.
We also need you to contact us with your stories so that we can highlight the problems in our area.
These calls need to stop. They are not just a nuisance, they can cause anxiety and concern to anyone who gets one.
We pledge to do what we can to prevent them.
