The contributions that county council staff have made to Northumberland have been recognised at a special awards evening.
The winners of Northumberland County Council’s Excellence Awards were announced at a ceremony at The Alnwick Garden with guests including the Duchess of Northumberland, finalists, council leaders and sponsors.
The awards recognised the outstanding contribution that county council staff make to the lives of people across the county.
Coun Grant Davey, leader of the council, said: “Our judges had an incredibly tough task choosing the winners from so many high–calibre nominations.
“Every day we have staff across the county working to make a real difference to the communities they serve and it was fantastic to be able to recognise their achievements.”
Chief executive, Steven Mason, added: “We all have busy jobs and sometimes we may not think about how the individual roles we are doing can make a difference to the lives of thousands.
“That is why it is important to take a step back and recognise our achievements.”
