Vauxhall dealer Tustain Motors, which also has garages in Ashington, Berwick and Haddington, has unveiled Prestige Cars Northumberland Ltd.

The company has refurbished its current dealership in Alnwick to create an additional purpose-built car show room for the venture.

The Prestige business will be run by John Packard. He previously worked in the motor trade, but left to join the pub-landlord business, during which time he owned and ran the Coach Inn at Lesbury, before selling in 2014.

John said: “I am delighted to be working at Prestige Cars Northumberland. As a car fanatic, I know which makes, models and variants customers want and the buying of vehicles is where I invest the majority of my time to make sure I stock the right cars at the right price.

“I have a great support team in the Tustain after-sales departments and I am looking forward to having many satisfied customers in the months and years to come.”

The company says that Prestige Cars will primarily stock quality pre-owned Land Rover, Mercedes, Audi and BMW vehicles, including a substantial 4x4 section.

The stocked cars are chosen very carefully, typically having lower than average mileage, full service history and immaculate bodywork.

The company’s operational directors, Brian Baxter and David Storey, who along with John Tustain set up Tustain Motors in 2010, have identified a geographical opportunity for this type of vehicle.

David said: “Between Newcastle and Edinburgh, there are no franchised outlets for these vehicles. Demographically there are a lot of people desiring this type of car and we are centrally located between these two cities.”
