The gang was released on police bail until Tuesday of this week, but Alnwick Neighbourhood Police Inspector Paul Truscott said they failed to respond and are wanted.

Meanwhile, extra police resources were drafted into Amble last Saturday evening in response to local concerns over rowdy behaviour in Queen Street.

Officers were deployed on foot patrol in the town centre to reassure the public and to tackle disorderly conduct.

Local licensed premises were also visited in this operation to ensure licensing conditions were being upheld and publicans supported .

Inspector Truscott said: “We will always act on community concerns and this operation involving extra officers being deployed on the streets is a good example of this.

“People feel reassured at seeing uniformed officers on patrol and I attend to repeat this deployment in the coming weeks.”
