The event was held at the high-school site at Acklington Road, but the hall was given a dramatic transformation, turning it into a spectacular ballroom setting.

The event was gorgeously decorated, featuring a red carpet entrance for the pupils, a fantastic DJ, photo booths, delicious food, sweetie tables, table-top lanterns, fairy lights and a ceiling adorned with pom-poms.

The atmosphere was fantastic and there was a real buzz about the night, especially when the prom king and queen were crowned.

It was another successful prom and gave the students the chance to let their hair down after the recent exams.

Reflecting on the occasion, executive headteacher Neil Rodgers said: “I would like to thank everyone who was involved in the prom. It was a thoroughly special event, centred around the children.

“The hall was stunning and had the parents literally speechless.

“We had a high proportion of Year 11 attending. Because it was for our students, it was designed, prepared and delivered with so much more thought, care and attention to detail.”
