AN appeal for volunteers has been made to help support the work of a charity group which raises money for the RNLI.
Amble Lifeboat Fund-raisers (ALF) has made the rallying call as it looks to add more recruits to its ranks.
Eleanor Cassidy, ALF vice-chairman, said: “We appreciate the support we get from everyone but our committee would also appreciate new members.
“If anyone out there has some spare time and would be willing to come to our meetings and lend a hand with our fund-raising events, or give as much time as they can spare, even if it is only a couple of hours on a particular day when we need help, they would be most welcome.”
ALF raise thousands of pounds every year by organising and running functions, including the popular harbour day which takes place in the summer.
The group is holding two coffee mornings, with the first taking place on Sunday, November 20, featuring tea, coffee and soft drinks with home-made scones and cakes and a raffle.
The second – a Christmas coffee morning – will have a festive theme and will be held on Sunday, December 11.
Both will run from 10am to 1pm and take place in the Lifeboat House in Amble.
Anyone interested in joining ALF should contact Eleanor by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 01665 713479.
