All of the children from Nursery to Year 6 took part in a range of investigations and the following are just some of the activities which took place.

In Early Years (Nursery and Reception), the pupils looked at mixing colours, making volcanos and how plants need water to survive.

In Class 1 (Years 1 and 2), the children learned about the scientist Charles Darwin and also looked for items to develop the bug hotel in their Forest Schools area.

In Class 2 (Year 3 and 4), they had a hair-raising time looked at the effects of static electricity on hair and water.

The students in Class 3 found out about famous scientists, in particular the late Stephen Hawking, as well as making rainbow paper and looking at irreversible changes and making their own slime.

British Science Week, from March 9 to 18 this year, is the UK’s biggest celebration of science.
