Fun and games in garden

The residents took part in frisbee golf, a quiz about the Royal family and a game of bingo which prompted a lot of fun, friendly competition.

The event was funded by the Homes for Northumberland team at Northumberland County Council through the new Make A Difference Fund. The fund is being used to help finance new projects that will help improve community life and be of benefit to council tenants.

Each housing officer on the team has been given a budget of £300 and sheltered scheme managers have been given £100, which they can use to organise an event or project in the community in which they work.

Augur Place warden, Helen Clark, said: “Many of our residents are royalists so it was lovely to mark the Queen’s birthday in our own small way.

“Being as active and sociable as possible is important for elderly people and our garden party brought everyone together for a friendly and informal event. We all had a fantastic time.”
