A woman was airlifted to hospital at the weekend after a crash at Peppermoor between Denwick and Longhoughton.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to help the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) at around 7.20pm on Saturday after a two-vehicle collision.

In total, four patients sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The GNAAS paramedic and doctor team assessed and treated a woman, believed to be in her 20s, who had sustained head and pelvis injuries before airlifting her to the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital at Cramlington.

The flight to hospital took 13 minutes and she was in a stable condition upon arrival.
