Foreign flavour

A TASTE of the continent is coming to Alnwick.

The town is hosting an international market from Sunday, August 28, to Wednesday, August 30, from 9am to 5.30pm.

More than 25 traders from all over Europe, many in traditional costumes, will be selling a variety of goods from stalls decorated to represented their home country.

For food-lovers there will be a chance to buy Brittany biscuits, olives, Italian nougat, cheeses, garlic, tartiflette from the Alps, charcuterie, bread, croissants, bagels and a range of Normandy ciders and calvados.

There will also be handbags and leather items, Marseille soaps, lavender and children’s toys, along with Fair Trade products including woodcarvings and hand-made clothes from Africa, South East Asia and Latin America.
