Food festival will cook up two days of culinary fun

An action-packed programme is on the menu at this year's Alnwick Food Festival, and the organisers are sure it will have all the right ingredients to make it a recipe for success.

An exciting mix of exhibitors are booked up for the two-day event, which takes place in September and promotes some of the best produce that Northumberland has to offer.

And ahead of September’s culinary showcase, the festival committee has announced that the town’s Ford Motorcare is the festival’s main sponsor.

Food festival chairman Philip Angier said: “We are delighted to have the support of Motorcare Ford in Alnwick for this year’s event.

“One of our priorities remains to showcase and celebrate the talents and enterprise of our food producers in Northumberland and the region.

“It’s especially fitting to have sponsorship from a business based in the town.

“We’ve an exciting mix of exhibitors booked for the weekend – familiar faces and some coming to Alnwick for the first time.

“Experiences not to be missed at this year’s event are the Mussel Pot (serving fresh mussels with crusty bread) and Corbridge-based Harper’s Exotic barbecue, who promise burgers in a variety of exotic flavours, including venison, buffalo and kangaroo.”

Ford Motorcare is delighted to be this year’s main sponsor and during the event, the company will be featuring the new Ford Focus with two cars on show at the event and staff available to help explain the features of the new vehicles.

The 2018 food festival will take place on the weekend of September 22 and 23, and is set to attract more than 50 street-food stalls and food and drink producers, as well as a full programme of family entertainment. It is a celebration of authentic artisan food and crafts, combined with music and entertainers.
