Fond memories of Woolies
A reader contacted us about this picture of staff at Alnwick's Woolworth's in 1991.
Val Cockburn (second left) named Pat McKenley on her right then David Gove, Tracy Gardner and Muriel Lyons, who sadly died last year. Val worked at the store for 13 years and said she loved it.
“It was awful when it closed,” she said. “It killed that street. I had some great times working there.”
