FLOODS: Care beyond call of duty

I would like to thank my care and support workers at Carewatch Newcastle for their resilience and professionalism while providing care to our customers in Alnwick, Morpeth and Rothbury during the recent floods.

They managed to reach vulnerable people living in severely affected areas that were dangerous to access. The carers truly went above and beyond, we are extremely proud and thankful for all their hard work during these terrible conditions.

We are also grateful to our customers for their kind words of appreciation regarding our efforts.

With the media portrayal of the care sector so overwhelmingly negative, I think it is important to remember that most care and support workers are enormously committed and go the extra mile for their customers, undertaking a challenging job and delivering high quality care whatever the weather.
