FLAG POLE: How about a compromise?
I write regarding the ongoing issue regarding the flag pole in the lower area of our Column Field, wanted by some, others against.
All must surely agree that it would look a bit stark if stood upright all the time so why not come to a compromise that may be acceptable to all?
Make it hinged at about wall height to drop into a sturdy holder, which could lock, be raised on special days, such as Remembrance Day, then lowered again, so as not to create an upset.
I don’t think it would be any more vulnerable to mindless vandals down as up.
Just a suggestion to stop it being a long, ongoing saga.
