From tomorrow (Friday), The Maltings will be screening the much-awaited Incredibles 2 film for two whole weeks.

When Mrs Incredible is called into a mission to help bring superheroes back, Mr Incredible is left with the day-to-day heroics of ‘normal’ life – well as normal as life can get with a teething baby who’s also getting his superpowers, one teenager who can create force fields, and another who can run at lightning speed.

However, when a new villain emerges with a dangerous plot that threatens everything, the Parrs must once again unite, along with Frozone and Edna, to bring back supers and stop the baddie in his tracks.

Being hailed as the best sequel Pixar has made outside the Toy Story franchise, this is the perfect movie to kick start the summer holidays.

There will be 21 screenings of the show over the next fortnight, with 2pm matinees, as well as 7pm shows.

And to make sure the theatre is accessible to all, tomorrow will also see a dementia-friendly screening.

After launching its season of dementia-friendly cinema screenings in May, The Maltings continues with Grease.

These screenings, which are running every month until October, are specifically tailored to the needs of those living with dementia, their families, friends and carers.

Lights are left on low, sound levels are reduced and it’s fine for customers to move around during the film. Everyone is welcome to join in for these relaxed screenings of specially selected classic films.

This month’s screening is the classic all singing and dancing Grease, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. A wholesome exchange student and a leather-clad local have a summer romance, but will it cross clique lines?

To book tickets to any of the screenings visit www.maltingsberwick.co.uk or call the theatre’s box office on 01289 330999.
