As there is no Alnwick Food Festival this year, many townsfolk might be tempted to try out a rival event further north in Berwick.
This year, Berwick is commemorating 900 years of history from when King David of Scotland made it one of his royal burghs.
Various businesses from Alnwick and beyond will be taking part in the festival, being organised by Berwick’s Slow Food group.
The food and beer festival will be taking place at the Barracks this weekend, with a beer marquee opening tomorrow afternoon and in the evenings.
The event will feature more than 40 stalls offering local produce, a beer festival, street food area, demonstration kitchen, animal farm and children’s activities.
