French celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli said he had a ‘fantastique’ time at this weekend’s Alnwick Food Festival, which benefitted from dry, sunny weather.
And organisers say that the Saturday was probably the busiest day at the festival since it began in 2005.
Speaking to the Gazette yesterday, TV star Jean-Christophe, back for his second festival, was full of praise for the event, the town, the organisers and volunteers and all the food and drink producers.
It was reflected in the crowds that turned out on both days as well as visiting the Alnwick Beer Festival, which runs alongside the food festival in the Town Hall.
Elsewhere more than 50 stalls in the Market Place reflected some of the region’s best food and drink while chefs, including Jean-Christophe, provided demonstrations in the Northumberland Hall.
There was plenty of other entertainment going on as well as the Dine with Novelli night on Saturday.
For a full round-up of the festival with plenty of photos, see Thursday’s Northumberland Gazette.
