The event, at Low Hauxley Square, featured a packed programme, which included a grand-draw raffle, live music, a sandcastle competition, a pet show and a target football contest.

Other highlights at the annual fun day included Hauxley pork buns and a barbecue, face-painting, traditional games, tombola and bric-a-brac stalls. The event proved popular and thankfully the sun shone.

The fun day was a success, according to a post on the Hauxley Village Facebook page, which reads: ‘Crowds of lovely people, a great atmosphere and beautiful weather – what more could anyone want? Thank you to everyone who helped make it another great day.’
