Warkworth Parish Council has put forward its list of priorities for Northumberland County Council’s Local Transport Plan Programme 2016-17, during the last meeting.

One of the priorities is to extend the 20mph speed limit and install additional traffic calming with ‘children playing’ signs at the Mains in Warkworth.

The resurfacing of the road at Cemetery Bank is also on the list, while concerns have been raised about people speeding within the 30mph zone on the A1068 between Warkworth and Amble.

Coun Roger Cashmore has raised concerns about the village playground, saying that it is deteriorating badly, with gaps visible in the logs.

Meanwhile, it has been requested that the dog warden carry out a leaflet drop on Guildens Road as fouling was a problem here.

The next parish council meeting takes place at the British Legion Room of the War Memorial Hall, on Castle Street, at 6.30pm on Thursday, October 1.
