A new exhibition celebrating the RNLI Grace Darling Museum’s 80th anniversary has begun – starting on the same day that the attraction first opened its doors eight decades ago.

Tribute to a Heroine: 80 Years of the Grace Darling Museum began on July 21, exactly 80 years after the Bamburgh museum’s original opening in 1938.

The fascinating new exhibition tells the story of how and why the museum came about.

It also explores the importance of the Darling’s coble, shines a light on the changes the museum has seen and showcases some of the exciting new pieces in its collection.

The exhibition runs until September 2. Entry to the museum and exhibition is free.
