Event in Alnwick for National Libraries Day

A magical event is taking place at Alnwick Library on Saturday to mark National Libraries Day.

The Alice in Wonderland-themed craft event takes place between 10.30am and noon for children aged four to 12.

Places are limited so people are advised to call the library to book their place on 01670 622154.

There are other events taking place across Northumberland all this week to mark the event which celebrates the country’s libraries. For more, visit www.mylibrary.co.uk
Meanwhile, library users could win a Kindle Fire tablet by entering a competition being run by Northumberland libraries.

Any customer updating their contact details and choosing either email or text as their preferred notification method for information will be entered into the draw to win one of two seven-inch Kindle Fire tablets.

To get involved, customers have to update their contact details next time they visit their local library and select email or text as their preferred notification method.

Customers selecting email as their preferred method of communication will receive a free reminder service which will send a notification email three days before borrowed items are due back or when reserved items are ready to be collected.

Contact details must be changed on or before Saturday, April 30, to be entered into the competition.

The lucky winners will be chosen at random and notified by email or text on Wednesday, May 11.

The competition is also being run to coincide with National Libraries Day alongside the range of events to mark the nationwide event, which was launched in 2012.
