Co-ordinating4Age and Ageing Well have brought together a wealth of organisations and activities to tempt Glendale residents to do something different this winter.

Ranging from gardening with U3A to the Wooler Knit and Natter Group, all kinds of activities will be showcased. If you’d like to try a taster walking to health walk (11am) or have your blood pressure checked, then that’s on offer too.

The Royal British Legion will be on hand, as will the CAB, to offer advice.

From support for grandparents providing childcare to those with health concerns themselves, there will be people to help and advise with transport, alternative therapies, energy-saving tools and the Men in Sheds project all on the agenda at the Cheviot Centre, from 10am to 2pm, on Wednesday, October 26.

Jane Pannell, chairman of Co-ordinating4Age, said: “We’re grateful to Ageing Well for helping out on this vital session in Glendale. All we need now is for people to pop along and see what’s on offer. Don’t let those short days and long nights stop you from having fun and staying well this winter – we’d love to see you.”

There’s a free lunch kindly provided by Roddam WI and a free bag of goodies for the first 30 people.
