EUROPE: PM elected to make decisions

Our take on democracy used to be pretty simple.

Elect a party, which has a leader. Give them (five) years to make decisions, which prove right or wrong. Repeat step one.

We currently have a Prime Minister elected, to his apparent astonishment, with a strong majority. Even so, he wants us, the people, to agonise whether to make a change which he seems to believe will lead the UK into disaster.

This may provoke cries of irresponsibility from some, but one position we could all adopt in return is ‘No, you do your job, sunshine, and we’ll do ours’.
