Northumberland Wildlife Trust will be hosting two guided walks from Amble to its Hauxley nature reserve as part of the Amble Puffin Festival.

Both walks, which will take place on Wednesday, May 22 and Wednesday, May 29, start at 1.30pm prompt from Amble Tourist Information Centre, next to the Town Square.

The treks will head across the sands to the Trust’s reserve where walkers will get the chance to check out the birdlife from various hides and an expert will provide commentary throughout the journey.

The terrain is rough and uneven so appropriate footwear and clothing is advisable.

The walk is 4km each way, but should anyone prefer to walk just to Hauxley, transport back to Amble can be provided if pre-booked.

Children are welcome, but must be able to manage the walk.

It costs £5 per person including tea and cake while under 10s go free.

Places are limited so booking is essential through Laura Lowther on 0191 284 6884.
