Northumberland Estates wants to develop the site at the east end of the village between Old Road and New Road.

Four detached sandstone homes with gardens and parking provision are proposed.

A report by David and Jane Darcy Architects, on behalf of Northumberland Estates, states: ‘The proposals represent the sustainable re-development of an infill site within Chatton village, creating four attractive family homes with good external spaces.

‘The overall appearance of the houses is designed to be in keeping with the character and materials of the conservation area, while providing contemporary space standards and good levels of natural light.’

A strip of land running parallel to the boundary with New Road has been allocated for a new footpath to link the community garden with the village hall site.
