The household waste recovery centre at Wooler.

Suez Recycling and Recovery UK Ltd is seeking to amend its existing planning permissions so it can make the changes at the Wooler and North Sunderland Household Waste Recovery Centres (HWRC).

Helen Kelly, Suez planning manager, explained: “The proposed amendment to the site layout is required following a review of all of the Northumberland HWRCs.

“It has become apparent that for general operational purposes, containers as well as material stored in them, are changed on a daily or weekly basis.

“The proposed change to the site layout would allow site supervisors more flexibility.” in moving containers within the site as waste flow changes.”

No changes in the type or amount of waste collected or stored is proposed and there will be no change to the number of operational vehicles accessing the sites.
