Hot food takeaway lined up for Subway sandwich shop site

Plans have been lodged to turn a Subway sandwich shop in Berwick into a hot food takeaway.

A change of use application for the Grade II listed Hide Hill property has been submitted by Kashmir Nijar, who owns the retail unit and first floor accommodation.

‘The proposal is to alter and change the use of the existing building from existing A1 classification to A5 hot food take away,’ states a report by Edwin Thompson surveyors.

A new customer entrance is proposed on the corner of Hide Hill, Marygate and Church Street, with the existing door retained for staff access and deliveries.
