Deer caught on camera at Northumberland nature reserve

It’s not just humans who are getting tired of waiting for places to open.

There was a wonderful surprise for staff arriving to open the gates to Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s Hauxley nature reserve this week.

A very well-mannered roe deer was waiting patiently for the gate to be open ahead of its early morning trot around the reserve.

The magical moment was captured by Christine Shotton, a member of the Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre team.

The nature reserve is open with refreshments available from a mobile catering unit.
