Changes planned at Alnwick household waste centre

Suez Recycling and Recovery UK Ltd plans alterations to the internal layout of the site on the Lionheart Enterprise Park to allow more flexibility in the location of recycling skips within the site.

Helen Kelly, Suez planning manager, explained: “It has become apparent that for general operational purposes, containers as well as material stored in them, are changed on a daily or weekly basis.

“The proposed change to the site layout would allow site supervisors more flexibility in moving containers within the site as waste flow changes.”

It will not result in any other change to the way the site is operated including the numbers of operational vehicles accessing the site or the amount of waste which can be handled.

Similar changes are planned at a number of other household waste recovery centres around Northumberland following a company review.
