Bin collection dates for Northumberland over Christmas and New Year

Northumberland families are being reminded that normal waste and recycling collection days will change over Christmas and New Year.

Northumberland County Council has announced changes to its collection schedule with Christmas just around the corner.

Collections up to and including Thursday, December 24, will be carried out as normal.

Collections for the week commencing Monday, December 28, will take place either one or two days later than the usual collection days.

Check which day your bin will be emptied over the festive period.

Monday, December 28 - Tuesday, December 29

Tuesday, December 19 – Wednesday, December 30

Wednesday, December 30 – Thursday, December 31

Thursday, December 31 – Saturday, 2 January

Families are also encouraged to try and recycle as much as possible over the festive period, and can visit one of the county's 12 Household Waste Recycling Centre.

They are closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
