As well as selling lemonade and home-made cakes, the gang held a 'guess the name of the bear' competition. The soft toy, named Billie Eilish, was donated by Alnwick's Sainsbury's store.

The girls, helped by Estie's younger sister Mamie, said: “We are really grateful to everyone who supported us and gave money.“We wanted to do this because it was horrible to think about all of the people and animals who have been hurt, killed or lost their homes during the Australian bushfires.“Alnwick Lions want to raise £2,000 with their appeal. We are pleased to have helped.”
