Emergency team goes to the aid of woman after she suffers arm injury at Northumberland harbour

A woman was helped by an emergency team after she was found lying on the ground with a suspected fractured arm.

Members of the HM Coastguard from Howick, Seaham, Hartlepool, Berwick and Amble had been covering a course in Amble yesterday, Sunday, November 15, when they were asked for help.

A spokesperson for Howick Coastguard Rescue Team said: “The team responded on foot and with their vehicle and gave immediate emergency care.

"The lady was made comfortable and her arm was supported while waiting for an ambulance.

“Once stabilised and made comfortable, the team assisted the lady to her car to keep her warm and dry.

"The family decided that they could transport her to hospital so the ambulance was stood down.

"All involved wish her a speedy recovery.

"Our teams are available 24/7 365 days a year to respond to incidents all around the U.K. coastline, even when on training exercises.”
