Emergency services called out to stranded fishing boat at Alnmouth
Emergency teams from the Coastguard and RNLI were called out last night after a fishing vessel ran aground at Alnmouth.
Amble Coastguard Team was scrambled at around 10pm to monitor the situation and provide safety cover as the boat's crew called for help to refloat.
Both Amble RNLI lifeboats were then requested to launch at 11.08pm, when Coastguard officers became concerned for the safety of the crew onboard the vessel.
But as the lifeboat crew were assembling, the vessel managed to re-float on its own and the lifeboats were stood down at 11.15pm.
