Egg-cellent work wins Easter prizes

PUPILS at two Alnwick first schools were rewarded for their efforts in an Easter egg competition last week.

Alnwick Police Community Support Officers Katie Gerrard and Kevin Simpson had run the contest for pupils to design the best Easter egg.

On Thursday and Friday, they visited St Paul’s and St Michael’s First Schools where they held assemblies to present the prizes.

The winners at St Michael’s were Ian McEwan, Rhys Matthews, Abbie Davies, Emma Straker, Jenny Smith, Kieran Doole, Imogen Niles and Joshua Henderson.

St Paul’s did not want to give the names of the winners due to school policy.

Special thanks were given to the following retailers who donated prizes for the competition: Glendale Garden Centre in Wooler, Willowburn Sports and Leisure Centre, Wilkinson, the Co-op on Bondgate Within, Iceland and Lidl, all Alnwick.
