The Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and Abraham Lincoln were all spotted at an Amble school last week – as children dressed up during an American-themed day.
Amble Links First School held the special event to help pupils learn more about the USA.
The youngsters completed a variety of activities, including making totem poles, learning American words, cheerleading, making popcorn, learning about Walt Disney and playing baseball.
A meal of quorn burgers, onion rings, fries, Boston beans, pink coleslaw and salsa was on the menu, followed by chocolate fudge cake and ice-cream.
Other colourful costumes on the day included Mr T, Wonder Woman, gangsters, spacemen, cowboys, a giant hamburger and cheerleaders.
