TWO young Alnwick entrepreneurs, who launched their new business venture less than a year ago, are bucking the national downturn by making a real success story of their new venture.
Shaun Doherty, 24, and Carl White, 22, who were both passionate about looking after their cars, decided to open their own fully insured car valeting and detailing business – Polished – last October.
Ten months on and business is booming for the Alnwick pair who are now set to launch their latest idea, a new loyalty card scheme. Shaun said: “We’re delighted with the way the first 10 months have gone.
“We’ve got a good base of loyal local customers who have supported us over what for many new businesses can be a difficult first year.”
Carl added: “We wanted to start rewarding our customers for their loyalty, and came up with the idea of launching a new loyalty card scheme.”
The new scheme, which was launched just last week, has proved to be an instant hit with customers and has given Shaun and Carl reason for great optimism during tough economic times.
“We’re very excited about the going into our second year, and have loads of ideas in the pipeline,” said Shaun.
“We’re now starting to put together a winter care programme following last year’s severe weather conditions.
“We want our customers’ cars to have maximum protection for the winter and hope to launch the programme on our first birthday in October.”
Polished is the only registered Auto Glym-approved detailer in the North East, and is based on Elm Square at Alnwick’s Lionheart Enterprise Park.
