Duck race is a quacking success
The annual Alnwick Round Table Duck Race was staged yesterday, to raise money for The Stephen Carey Fund, The Alnwick Garden Trust and the Round Table itself.
The spectacle, sponsored by Alnwick Specsavers, also featured an Alnwick Gin Race and a raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses.

'We managed to beat last year's success and we should be able to write some bigger cheques this year for The Stephen Carey Fund and The Alnwick Garden once the final money comes in.
'This couldn't have been done without you all buying tickets and supporting on the day, and all our sponsors for supporting us with great prizes to give away. Bring on April 20, 2019, for our next race.
'There's still some unclaimed prizes, but we will be in touch with those who have won!' Head gardener at The Alnwick Garden, Trevor Jones, said: "The cheeky ducks quacked up lots of pennies for the charities and gave lots of fun to everyone. It was wonderful seeing all the brightly-coloured ducks pour down the Grand Cascade to the sound of excited shouts and whoops of delight."
