Druridge Bay 10k run
There were a number of personal bests from Alnwick Harriers in the Druridge Bay 10k last weekend.
The first Alnwick runner home was Ben Kelly, who finished sixth for the second year running, and in doing so shaved exactly a minute from his 2015 time as he clocked 37.10.
Next home and winner of the Male Veteran prize was Phil Hemsley in eighth, in a time of 37.34.
The third Harrier across the line, and a massive three-and-a-half minutes quicker than last year, was Dominic Harris in 39.1
Dean Stackhouse, in a personal best, was the fourth Harrier to finish, whilst John Cuthbert was amongst others who ran their best 10k to date.
For the ladies, Ben’s mum Karen was Alnwick’s first finisher in 72nd overall, followed by Alex Reed in 49.00, ahead of Justine Norman and Laura McLean.
Elsewhere, in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival there were personal bests for both Sarah Cross and Lisa Baston.
