Drivers injured in three-car crash

TWO drivers suffered minor injuries after a three-car crash yesterday.

A Nissan Almera, Vauxhall Corsa and a Peugeot collided just after 5pm on the A697 near Powburn.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene and two drivers were taken by ambulance to Wansbeck General Hospital while the third was checked over by paramedics.

Those injured were released later in the day with whiplash.

The road was closed for around three hours to allow for cars to be recovered and collision investigation to take place.
