Dog charity given £2.5k grant for its vet bills
Alexa's Animals Dog Rescue has received a £2,500 grant from Support Adoption For Pets, the UK's largest grant-giving animal charity, to go towards vet bills.
The charity works tirelessly to re-home dogs and has done for more than 20 years, an achievement that earned Alexa Nisbet an MBE in 2001. Since its beginning, Alexa’s Animals has re-homed more than 900 dogs and puppies.
Amy Wilson, charity manager at Support Adoption For Pets, said: “It is a real privilege to help an organisation that works so hard to care for and re-home dogs and puppies in need.
“They are doing a superb job and the effort the rescue puts in is an inspiration.”
Support Adoption For Pets is an independent charity established by Pets at Home in 2006. Since then it has helped more than 1,000 re-homing centres and animal-welfare organisations across the UK.
In addition to its fund-raising work, it also runs dedicated adoption centres in nearly 400 Pets at Home stores.
