The Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Awareness Week (May 14-20) asks people to raise awareness and offer help and understanding.
For four years, we have been working to address the issue of companies taking away consumers’ rights to receive financial information in the format that is easiest for them, be it text, paper, email or all three. We have heard of organisations pushing people to receive electronic communication.
People with dementia can struggle to remember passwords, emails and pin codes. If they receive paper statements, a carer can easily give financial guidance.
We will continue our fight to ensure that consumers’ rights are honoured and we ask readers to do the same.
